How should your evening skincare routine look like?

Facial care before bed is extremely important for the health and beauty of our skin. This is when we can remove all impurities that have accumulated on it throughout the day, such as dust, smog, makeup or sebum. This is also when we can provide it with appropriate hydration and nutrition, which will help it regenerate at night. In this way, we prevent premature skin aging, acne, irritation and other problems.

Evening skincare routine should consist of several steps that we perform in a specific order. We have collected them for you 🙂

Makeup removal

The first and basic step is to remove makeup from your face. You can use micellar fluid, oil or makeup removal milk for this. It is important to thoroughly cleanse the skin of all traces of color cosmetics, as they can clog pores and cause irritation. Don’t forget to remove eye and lip makeup – your evening skincare routine cannot do without it.

Face washing

The next step is to wash your face with a gel or foam suitable for your skin type. It is not enough to just remove makeup, because other impurities or remnants of makeup removal products may remain on the skin. Washing your face allows you to remove them and prepare the skin for further care. Use warm, not hot water, and gently massage your face with your fingers or a special brush. You will immediately feel that your complexion is becoming smooth, but it definitely needs further care.

Tonization

The next step is to apply toner to your face with a cotton pad or spray it directly onto your skin. Toner helps restore the skin’s proper pH, which can be disturbed by washing your face. It also moisturizes the skin, refreshes it and prepares it for better absorption of subsequent products.

Serum

A serum is a product with a high concentration of active ingredients that is designed to solve specific skin problems, such as discoloration, wrinkles or loss of firmness. Apply the serum to your face after toner and gently pat it into the skin with your fingertips. We can use one or more serums with different properties depending on the needs of our skin.

Cream

The last step is to apply a cream to the face and neck. The cream is designed to protect the skin from moisture loss and provide it with the right level of moisture and nourishment throughout the night. We choose the cream according to our skin type, age and season. Winter requires a richer and oily cream that will protect the skin from frost and wind, and summer requires a light and moisturizing cream that will not burden the skin and will not cause excessive sebum secretion.

Why is an evening skincare routine important?

It is at night that our skin regenerates and renews itself most intensively. If you do not take care of it properly, you can harm its health and beauty. Still not convinced? Learn about the consequences that can happen to you if you don’t take care of proper care.

Leaving makeup on your face can lead to clogged pores, blackheads, pimples and acne. Such neglect often irritates the skin, causes allergies and other infections. Not washing your face causes bacteria, viruses and fungi to accumulate on the skin, which cause inflammation, redness and itching of the skin.

Not using a toner can disturb the natural pH of the skin and weaken its protective barrier. As a result, the skin becomes dry, rough and prone to irritation.

On the other hand, if you forget about the serum, your complexion will not receive the right dose of active ingredients that improve its condition and appearance. The skin will lose its glow, firmness and elasticity. And what happens if you don’t apply a cream? The face will not be moisturized, so in the morning you will feel an unpleasant feeling of tightness and dryness. Regenerative processes will slow down, and aging will begin to progress. Is that enough to decide on regular care every evening? 😉

Bedtime care – the secret of your beauty

The evening care routine should consist of five steps: make-up removal, face washing, toning, serum and cream. This will provide our skin with optimal conditions for regeneration at night and prevent many problems. Let’s also remember to regularly perform peeling and mask once or twice a week to additionally cleanse and refresh our skin.
